The Peloponnesian War [431-404 BC]

The Peloponnesian War (431–404 BC) was an ancient Greek war fought by the Delian League led by Athens against the Peloponnesian League led by Sparta. The war was interrupted by several truces and ended with the victory of Sparta. The Peloponnesian War marked the end of the peak of Athens and Athenian democracy and shook all over Greece. All Greek city-states took part in the wars, and the war events hit almost the entire Greek world.
