History:
The regiment was established in November 1801 on the basis of the supreme the decision from 22. September of the same year. The regiment was created by the merger of the German shooting corps Kurzova and Tyrolean ostrostřeleckého corps. The newly assembled regiment consisted of three battalions after six setninách. Since the men of the above corps wasn't enough to fill the conditions, were the regiment moved native Tyrolané from the Dutch game corps Le Loupova and out of the ordinary infantry regiment Neugebauerova no. 46 (former Tyrolean provincial and field regiment). The regiment was replenished exclusively from the Tyrol. The regiment bore the name of its owner field podmaršála marquis Chastelera and received the number 64, i.e. the first in the final regular infantry regiment, which at that time was 63.

In the campaign of 1805 were the individual battalions deployed separately. 1. the battalion under the command of major Steffaniniho was attached to the main army in Germany. Distinguished himself in the battle at Ulm, but after the surrender he fell into captivity. Lieutenant Franz free lord von Ensch received for their performance of the Military order of Maria Theresa. 2. battalion under the command of lieutenant-colonel Fenner was attached to Jelačićově corps. Passed the battle of Ulm and distinguished himself during the retreat to Vorarlberku. 3. the battalion under the command of lieutenant colonel count Spaura operated in the corps of the archduke John in the Tyrol. During the retreat formed a rear guard, Lieutenant Johann Wolny was for his actions during a collision in Graz too exceptionally promoted to kapitánporučíka.

After the resignation of Tyrol was renamed the regiment to the Jaeger regiment Chastelerův no 64.


Packaging:
Members of the regiment wore coats and pants in the color of the pike grey, mid green egalizaci and yellow buttons.
