SUU-23/A (XM25/M25 (US Army designation))
Cannon case in which the rotating cannon is located GAU-4/A Vulcan. This is an improvement over the SUU-16/A case, which needed a tilting thrust turbine to drive the cannon. GAU-4/A Vulcan was powered by dust gases taken from the main and did not need an external drive . This was reflected in the better aerodynamic properties of the case when firing and a constant rate of fire regardless of flight speed.
However, the case remained inaccurate when shooting due to suspension and the impossibility of accurate aiming.
The case was used on American machines F-4C/[ url=/viewtopic.php] D[/url] Phantom II a strojích RAF Phantom FG.1 (version F-4K) a Phantom FGR.2 (version F- 4M).
TTD:
Weight: 780 kg (1730 lb)
Magazine: 1200 rounds
Firing rate: 6000 rounds/min.
