| Anotace: Anotation: | Zcela poprvé publikovaná, několikadílná souborná práce o osudech čs. letců v řadách britského Královského letectva za mírových let, zavede čtenáře zprvu do etapy od osvobození ČSR až k následkům komunistického puče z února 1948. V reakci na čistky v armádě, zatýkání a absurdní obvinění se letci opět vydávají za hranice do svobodného světa. Díky pochopení britské strany se řadě z nich daří opětovně přejít pod ochranu Královského letectva a většině pak nastoupit druhou etapu služby v letových a pozemních zařazeních. S čs. exilovými letci se tak setkáváme od konce 40. do počátku 70. let minulého století v široké paletě činností a za aktivní účasti na významných, či méně známých operacích a událostech v dobách studené války. | For the very first time published, several-part collective work on the fate of Czechoslovakia. pilots in the ranks of the British Royal Air Force during the peacekeeping years, will take readers first to the stage from the liberation of Czechoslovakia to the aftermath of the communist coup of February 1948. In response to purges in the army, arrests and absurd accusations. Thanks to the understanding of the British side, many of them manage to return to the protection of the Royal Air Force and most then enter the second stage of service in flight and ground classification. | Recenze: Review: | Pre mňa osobne veľmi dôležitá kniha. Osudy príslušníkov čs. letectva v RAF počas druhej svetovej vojny sú zväčša spracované podrobne a komplexne. Ich osudy ako exulantov alebo utečencov pred komunistickým režimom však v odbornej literatúre alebo aj memoároch bývajú podchytené len v náznakoch. V tejto knihe sa konečne po rokoch erudovaní autori pustili do neľahkej úlohy zdokumentovať osudy našich letcov, ktorých nelákal pobyt v "socialistickom raji" a ktorí dali prednosť úteku z rodnej krajiny. Teší ma, že ide o prvý diel, keďže počet "odídencov" je naozaj príliš vysoký na jednu knihu. Potešili ma aj zmienky o poľských kolegoch s rovnakým (exulantským) osudom. Kniha je písaná, z môjho pohľadu, veľmi pútavo a čítavo a je nabitá množstvom raritných fotografií. Jednoznačne odporúčam (aj napriek vyššej cene) všetkým záujemcom o osudy našich druhovojnových letcov. | A very important book for me personally. The fates of Czechoslovak members of the RAF during World War II are mostly elaborated in detail and comprehensively. However, the fates of exiles or refugees before the communist regime are often only hinted at in the professional literature or in memoirs. In this book, after years of erudite, the authors have set themselves the difficult task of documenting the fates of our pilots, who were not attracted by their stay in the "socialist paradise" and who preferred to flee their homeland. I am pleased that this is the first volume, as the number of "detainees" is really too high for one book. I was also pleased with the mention of Polish colleagues with the same (exile) fate. The book is written from my point of view very engaging and legible and is loaded with a number of rare photographs. I unequivocally recommend (despite the higher price) to all those interested in the fate of our WWII pilots. |
