Uzhhorod Airport

The beginnings of the use of the current airport date back to World War I, when units of the Austro-Hungarian Air Force were probably stationed here.
After the annexation of Subcarpathian Rus' to Czechoslovakia, it was gradually expanded with the construction of hangars, lighting, radio equipment, etc. It had the status of "Public Main Airport and Auxiliary Military Airport". It was used by air transport companies and the Masaryk Air League. During the 1938 conscription period, Field Squadron 31 was stationed here.
In November 1938, it was handed over to Hungary, which used it as a military air base until it was occupied by the Soviet Army in October 1944. Occasionally, Luftwaffe units were also stationed there.
After the annexation of Transcarpathian Ukraine to the USSR, a civilian airport.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union on the territory of Ukraine.
After World War II, the operation of the airport had to be regulated by international treaties because the landing corridor runs through the territory of Czechoslovakia/Slovakia.
