This beautiful medal was established by the decision of Tsar Alexander III. in 1882. It was intended to honor sculptors, painters, artists, executives of the Ministry of the Interior, the office of the Moscow Governor, members of the police and clergy (clergy), who actively participated in the completion of works and works of art, which made the Cathedral of Christ the Savior a beautiful monument. The medal was made of gold and awarded in the number of 250 pieces. 1000 silver medals were minted. These are therefore very rare medals. The size of the medal in gold and silver is 35 mm. The medal was worn on a red ribbon of the Order of Alexander Nevsky. Gold medals for high-ranking civil servants were adorned with small diamonds, and these medals were worn on the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew.
