A cap from Adolf Hitler's personal possession will be auctioned off in an upcoming German auction. It comes from the collection of Ben Lieber and is well documented. Inside it is marked Holters - Uniformen Berlin W. 50. Lieutenant Ben Lieber was the first Allied soldier to enter Adolf Hitler's private apartment in Munich, Prinzregentplatz 16, in April 1945. He owned the collection until 1968, when it was stolen by his driver. It took him two years to discover the collection, which in the meantime had been moving around in various auction houses, and to claim and sell it. The starting price is EUR 400 000,-.
