Captain H. W. Woollett from the 43rd Squadron set a war record in shooting down six enemy aircraft in one day, thanks mainly to the excellent qualities of his machine. Thus, at 10:30, while leading a patrol, he saw an enemy machine, maneuvered it, fired about thirty rounds, and saw it crash in a corkscrew. During this fight he was attacked by several other machines. Without hesitation, he quickly ascended over his attackers and sank into the two-seater, firing at her, causing her to collapse. He rose above his opponents again, turned away from the two attacking Fokker, made a vertical tilt, and fell again behind the tail of the Albatross. Then he fired 40 rounds, this machine ignited and fell to pieces. Then he flew home. At 5 p.m., that same evening, he attacked thirteen enemy aircraft, confident of his ability as a pilot, and knew that his machine could maneuver any machine he attacked. He ascended again, maneuvering frantically between the twelve machines, avoiding the fire of his opponents until he could fire a shot at the Albatross, which went into a descending corkscrew and clashed. Then he headed home. As he crossed the line, he noticed another enemy machine above him. Climbing his bus again allowed him to overcome the enemy and shoot down his sixth machine that day. That day's performance, a war record, depicts the need for aircraft speed to climb and maneuver.
