Brief history:
Prototypes of this aircraft were marked with only the yak-9, the letter "S" was rather the factory designation. Both aircraft have incurred by modifying the standard fighter plane the yak-9M, the later series of this type were already powered by engines VK-105PF-2, these engines geared up to the propeller you KNOW-105SV-01, which was, at the same average, much more effective than older you KNOW-61P.
