After the occupation of the Czech lands was the LK vz. 26 accepted into the armament of the Wehrmacht after the designation MG 26(t) (maschinengewehr modell 26 tschechoslovakische).

The paradox, therefore, is that the design of this gun fought in WWII. on both sides - in the original design on the side of the states of the Axis - in the form of a machine-gun BREN on the allied side..

in addition to our and the German army it took other armies, especially the Romanian and yugoslav (indicated there was Puska-Mitralez 7.9 mm M26) in German service it was used in addition to WH (here rather from a lack of MG 34) in particular, units of the SS which originally were not allowed to restrict the supply for the WH. In the service of the machine-guns lasted until the end of the war, there are references about the tray for 30 rounds, unfortunately I didn't confirm..

Citace - bitaxe :

in addition to our and the German army it took other armies, especially the Romanian and yugoslav (indicated there was Puska-Mitralez 7.9 mm M26)...

Already in 1927, was the first delivery of 1’500 light machine guns ZB-26. Weapons in Yugoslavia have received the label Puškomitraljez Zbrojovka 7,9 mm M-26. The yugoslavs, however, should objections to the low reliability of the machine gun ZB-26, which, however, was caused by the poor quality of gunpowder, which were filled with yugoslav ammo. Brno zbrojovka therefore, the yugoslav army offered the machine gun ZB-30, developed on the basis of operating experience from Romania, where it displayed the same problems with poor quality gunpowder. A modified machine gun received the designation ZB-30J and Yugoslavia them in 1936 took 15’of 500 pieces.

Úplná hlaveň

1st barrelň
It is steel, 602 mm long. Inside the bore there are 4 fields and 4 grooves forming a right-hand thread, the bore diameter between the fields is 7,92 mm. The barrel ends 35 mm before the mouth of the barrel. A hole is drilled in the unlined čpart (without tracks) through which the gases flow into the gas holder. At the mouth of the barrel there is a thread for dampening the fire.
The barrel is air-cooled - it is fitted with žebration. In the rear čpart of the barrel ě there are threaded žribs on the barrel, by which the barrel ěň is connected to the threaded housing.

2. gas handle
It is mounted on the řfront čpart of the barrelě, a connecting channel is drilled in it. This channel is used to discharge the gases into the piston tube. On top of the handle is the fly rod and fly guard. Inside the handle is a track in which is a fire dampening safety.

3. fire suppression;
is screwed onto the mouth of the barrel.

4. the collar of the barrelě
In 1/3 of the barrelě is a rotatingčivě collar barrelě for the handleť.

5. handleť
The handleť is hinged and serves for quick handling of the barrel and for carrying the machine gun. When the handle is turned down to the left, it is used to hold the machine gun upright.

I dug around in my library a bit and dug out the 1937 NCO manual(they were the same since 1934 so to speak), and found a few pictures:

If someone wanted a super-manic training nábóje of the LK vz.26, had to have a special attachment and the barrel, which narrowed the barrel, this resulted in the necessary pressure gas to move the piston.

From the manual for non-commissioned officers and books ČS.ARMY 1932-1939 I nascenoval a few pictures of how the shot was fired from okopů, which were according to regulation. A map shows the trench for the light machine gun, in the pictures, unfortunately, is the trench for heavy machine gun, which had the shape of "L", headed by "elka" was the shooter and in the right part of the střelecův helper, with a light machine gun it was about the charger..

The factory mark "WaffenAmt"....WaA 63...Zbrojovka Brno

Waffenamt is not the name of the armaments factory, but of the receiving officer (?) assigned to that armaments factory, who received weapons for the Reich defense forces.

Lišák is correct the company was marked with a three-letter designation (usually because there were also two-letter ones) for Brno Armoury it is usually the mark "dot"

if I manage to take a picture of the vz. 26 for the afghan army. It looks to be in pretty good condition for having been in the ground for many years. Probably from the drought.
