ZS-82 (ЗС-82, агитационная звуковещательная станция, agitational acoustic radio station)
Means designed to conduct psychological operations on the BRDM-2 (GAZ-41-14) chassis. By playing acoustic recordings, it influences military personnel and the civilian population. Acoustic recordings can have propaganda content, but they can also be a warning of danger. The means can also be used to provide cultural events (sound system) or to simulate the operation of combat equipment in an area where the equipment is not present (by playing a recording of moving equipment.
The vehicles have an acoustic range of up to 6000 m, the power of the apparatus is 1000 W. Vehicle operation is possible from a distance of up to 500 m.
According to media reports, the ZS-82 vehicles, numbering 10, were used by the Russian army in the first half of 2014 near the Ukrainian border to simulate the movement of military columns made up of tanks and other tracked equipment.
