The ZPU-4 differs from the ZPU-2 and ZU-23 mainly by using a much more stable (and heavier) four-wheel chassis with 4 supports.
The 4 machine guns and magazines required mounting on the outside of the square bearings.
Two sights were used, the simpler APO 14.5 and later the ZAPP-4, which is based on the differently arranged computing modules of the ZAPP-2 sight.
