Brief history and description
For many years the Czechoslovak People's Army (CSLA) used Soviet telecommunications headquarters for radio and cable communications. With the growing need to technically secure classified telephone and teletype communications, the P 240T and P 241T operating systems were imported from the USSR. After trials with the 20th msd in 1976, they were inducted into the armament under the name "Joint Signal Unit" (JSU) Division. By 1980, 28 kits were imported, and after 1980 another 42 kits were imported.
The communications headquarters set consisted of three vehicles: a boxcar ZiL-131 and two Praga V3S-SJs. During transfers, the operator was not housed in the boxcar body for safety reasons.
The Box body type K6.131 (К6.131) was divided into two parts:
- At the front, behind the driver's cab (the entrance was on the starboard side) was the "secret" ZAS (Army Special Liaison) workstation.
- In the rear, the workplace of the "normal" operators.
The operating room was equipped with the following equipment.
