Hradiště Albrechtice (Saddle, Albrechtice - Seat)

The village is located fort, which is dated roughly to the middle of 1. millennium bce. c., to the late hallstatt (HD) to early laténského (LTA) period.
In the younger periods of its existence it was used as a place of refuge, are here documents the presence of celtic populations in the 2. and 1. century bc. n. l., also, there was evidence of settlement in the roman period and the early middle ages.
This is the one with the maximum built hillforts, with an area of about 3 hectares, in the Czech republic (it is on the top portion of the mountain Sedlo near Sušice - 902 m asl). The fortifications, which has the shape of an irregular polygon, here occupies two different high peaks and saddle between them. The whole area is protected by steep precipices. Settlement shall be measured in a longer axis of about 400 meters and in the transverse axes is in the ranges from 32 to 114 meters. The basis of the fortifications are rock walls, blocks and cliffs. These are then connected by massive stone mounds, which are sometimes wide up to around 13 metres, from the outer sides are then up to 10 meters high. Fortifications exceeds a total length of 900 meters. As a guard outpost, then tend to be interpreted on the southern and SW side of the striking natural rock tower formations. Fortification was not investigated, but even though it can be assumed that the construction of the walls were of dry-laid stones and had had internal wooden structure. Transverse seats is hradiště divided into 4 parts, slightly patrnéi is artificial transverse fortifications in the form of a stone wall. The entrance was originally ulicovitou the gate in the JV process.
There were made only minor archaeological research, under the direction of B. Dubského in the years 1930 to 1932, L. Franz and C. Streitová here, then, research conducted in 1934, in the years 1953 to 1955, where he led research J. Břeně. Have been identified 4 phases of habitation of the premises. Among the findings is in addition to the ceramics ranks and bronze bar handle. From later periods were found directly behind the torso fortification of the dwelling, which is, however, not exactly dating, at that time the fortification was not in the best condition and it wasn't about him cared for, however it was still a source of safety.
