Mine Alexander

The mine Alexander was built by the company Northern railway of Ferdinand in the years 1896 until 1901. The year 1926 was a pit associated with the mine Zárubek and it became his auxiliary mine end of mining occurred in the 80's. years and in the year 1992 ended with the liquidation of the mining works. Generally the present day preserved in 9 different buildings, including two mining towers (mining and výdušná) and the chimney. The campus is a technical monument and is gradually undergoing renovations. This is a mining area unique for its baroque architectural symbolism, which has castle the composition of the court of honor. The premises belonged to park, who became the first seat of the ostrava zoo.
