the Building of the main train station

The building was built in 1850, in the years 1902 to 1905 was secession rebuilt. Damaged in an air raid in 1944, when the lost the true clock tower. It is part of an important transport node.

Mahen theater

The theater was exposed in the years 1881 to 1882, according to the project of architects F. Fellner and H. Hellnera in the places where they once were the city walls. The first performance was held here, 14. listodapu 1882. The theater is richly embossed and decorated. In the facade is located the tuscan and corinthian columns. In the middle there is a statue of the god Dionysus on a chariot drawn by lions and panthers.

Janáček theatre

Janáček theatre was exposed to in the years 1960 to 1965 in the functionalist style according to the project of the architect Jan Víšek with the collective (Vilém Zavřel, Libuše Žáčková-Pokorová). On the interiors participated Ivan Ruller and Boleslav Písařík. The construction of the theatre had been planned since 1910. From then until 1958, it was published a total of 7 architectural competitions.

a Monument to the Red army

The memorial, which dominates the Moravian square, was ceremonially unveiled on the occasion of the 10. anniversary of the liberation of the city of Brno the Red army 25. April 1955. Already three years later was declared a cultural monument. Is the work of the academic sculptor Vincenc Makovský, and the architects Bohuslav Fuchs and Anotnína Kuriala. In 1993, they were from the monument to the removed slabs with inscriptions and a battalion (he was on top of a five-pointed star on it were a sickle with a hammer). The year 2012 has been a monument reconstructed.
