V katastru obce stávala dnes již zaniklá tvrz Benedín, po které se původě jmenovala i celá ves. Tvrz je doložena roku 1406 a podle ní se psal vladycký rok z Benedína. Dle zemský desk roku 1482 postoupil Ctibor Džbeřík z Hartvíkovic tvrz, dvůr a ves Benedín spolu s částmi později zaniklých vsí Chřeptova a Kamenného Mikuláši z Jemničky. Později se tyto lokality staly součástí Oslavičky.
