Mystery V-3.006


There are references to V-3.006 in several sources even after its alleged destruction. The tank under this designation figures in the PUV status and was supposed to take part in the SNP battles. In the source¹⁾ (p. 165) there is a photograph (or two photographs) of the destroyed V-3.006. Sources²⁾³⁾ indicate the deployment of V-3.006 in 1/1943 as part of the Rearming Division. Source²⁾ (p. 60) states that the new V-3.006 was renumbered V-3.005. The reason why such a thing would have been done, and the source from where the author got this information, is not known to me. The source⁴⁾ (p. 48) also mentions the renumbering of the tank, but gives the erroneous information that the tank V-3.000 was to be renumbered to V-3.006. Although this information is erroneous, the author mentions some form of renumbering. However, the renumbering of Slovak LT-38s is documented for deliveries of the later series. V-3.006 arrived on 8 January 1943 to Rearming Division. A total of six LT-38 tanks made up the 2nd Platoon. The commander of the platoon was Lt. Sgt. Juraj Roháčik.
The tank was destroyed in fighting during the SNP on 5 September 1944 near Dubna Skala. Commander Karol Pukančík.

Mystery V-3.006 solved thanks to quality photos provided by Mr. Karel Trojanek. The information about tank V-3.006 destroyed near Zaluži is wrong. It is a tank V-3.005.

Po preskúmaní fotiek som trochu zmätený.
Našiel som zaujímavosť. Tanky pravdepodobne v rozsahu V-3.000 až V-3.005 nemali registračnú značku olemovanú bielou farbou. V-3.003 na fotkách z neskoršieho obdobia lemovanú značku má, no v období prvého nasadenia a boja pri Lipovci sa mi zdá, že tam lem nie je.
A po skúmaní v grafickom editore si dovolím odhadnúť, že posledné číslo zničeného tanku v Zaluži nie je "6", ale "5". Čiže V-3.005 ?
