4th Guards Tank Army (first formation)

The 4th Guards Tank Army began forming on 22 February 1943 in the village of Kubinka Moscow Oblast under the command of major-general V.D. Kryuchionkin, who was later replaced in this post by major-general V.T. Obukhov. It was subordinated from the beginning to Main Tent of the Supreme Command.


However, its formation was discontinued at the end of March 1943, and the headquarters, or the army's command report, were used to form the 3rd Reserve Army (the third formation).
