History
During the Second Israeli-Lebanon war ("operation Peace for Galilee", the 1982) israeli armoured personnel carriers M113 showed his vulnerability in front of small anti-tank missiles. As the bailout was the Israeli army (IDF) unveiled a series of transporters Kangaroo (derived from tank Centurion) for the use of infantry and engineers (the so-called combat engineers). IDF left to remove the tower from some of its obsolete tanks (MBT) Centurion, which has led to the use of the space and to position a new space drop with the square superstructure. The first steps of the adapted Centurions, known as NagmaSho't appeared in the early 80's. years (NagmaSho't is an acronym for Nagmash and Sho't. ; see. Glossary of terms and abbreviations used by the IDF and the IAF). The use of vehicles NagmaSho't was soon transferred from the infantry formations to engineers. The reason for the change of role was that the vehicle lacked a suitable rear door for leaving the team. Transported a six-man infantry airdrop therefore completely normally ducked out through the sidewall of the hull. This would have too many disadvantages. As a result, IDF introduce F, whose basis is the tank T-54/T-55as the basic armored vehicle for use in combined combat operations. Later it was decided to produce a specialized transporter (also on a tank chassis Centurion) for the engineers, known as the Puma. As soon as F and Puma have joined the service, NagmaSho't was assigned to use as a transporter for use in conflicts with low intensity fighting (Low Intensity Conflicts - LIC).

an Armored truck for operation with low-intensity fighting
NagmaSho't provides the Israeli army (IDF) useful and powerful capacity. Thanks to this, the Israelis introduced an improved reconstruction of the tank Centurion with a similar configuration. These vehicles are known as Nagmachon and Nakpadon. Some were newly converted vehicles. Most, however, were retrofitted existing vehicles NagmaSho't. Nagmachon entered service at the end of the 80. years and Nakpadon at the beginning of the years 90. A handful of vehicles Nagmachon early manufacturing was built on the basis of tanks M48. However, have shown less capability to withstand mines and explosive traps before the tanks Centurion built on the basis of the Kangaroo (the Australian modification of tank chassis for armoured personnel carriers, the first types have arisen for 2.world war ii).
While the default subject for NagmaSho't was the creation of a heavy attack transporter, later Nagmachon and Nakpadon were from the beginning designed for use in operations such as counter-insurgency platform (COunter INsurgency - COIN). Project are very similar to the vehicle NagmaSho't, but have a combat section with higher walls. As in the case of a vehicle NagmaSho't, the infantry must leave the vehicle through the engine-gear compartment after the truck bed.

Protection
Vehicle NagmaSho't was presented with a side of heavy reactive armour. It was rarely ever seen in the service. Most often it was used the usual standard armour of the Centurion; possibly heavy armour. Occasionally vehicles do not have attached any side armour. The vehicle also has improved protection against landmines, it was previously a weakness, which, however, has been removed.
