The village Stvolínky for the first time we find in the written sources from the year 1197 in connection with its donation of the former owner, a certain there Hroznatou, other owners. At the end of 14. century was probably on the site of the old gentry of the areola built the new gothic fortress, protected by a moat. The year 1505 to Stvolínky become a small town. The beginning of the 16. the century was then a gothic fortress rebuilt into a renaissance mansion. Work on the redevelopment commenced in 1520, and the initial phase of the redevelopment ended in 1538. Various modifications and completion, however, for some time continued. Itself the town during the 16. century developed and its importance within the region soared. There were major markets, and the municipality operated its own hospital, which could not boast any major city. In 1623 acquired the owner of the manor the right to brew beer. The building of the local brewery, then this privilege materialized and said in life.

The year 1647 passed Stvolínky for fifty-three thousand gold in property of the bishopric in Litoměřice. Over time (and after other adjustments) to the local castle became the summer residence of the litoměřických bishops. The year 1881 is in Stvolínkách mentioned the post office and in 1895 already Stvolínky could boast of a telegraph. A couple of years later (in 1908) is then started with the construction of the local water supply.
