Hotchkiss H-39 (2 pdr gun)
Probably an Israeli modification of the French tank Hotchkiss-39. The machine was similar to a similar Syrian modification of the French type Renault 35, which was rearmed 2 pound cannon. I Hotchkiss was rearmed with this cannon. The rearmament dates back to 1948 after the first action of the 82nd Armored Battalion of the 8th Armored Brigade (occupation of the airport in the Palestinian city Lydde), which was armed with 10 Hotchkissov . These rearmed machines were still in service during the Suez Crisis in 1956, and after that they were probably decommissioned and ended up at a junkyard.
