Junkers Ju 288 A
The main feature is a cabin for a crew of three
- V1, V2, V3, V4 and V7 prototypes these aircraft were powered by BMW 801 TA engines
- V5, V6 and V8 prototypes were powered by Jumo 222 engines
- the prototypes were tested with different wing spans and fuselage lengths
- the standard for the A version is considered to be the Junkers Ju 288 V8
Junkers Ju 288 B
The main improvements are a wing with a larger span and a cabin for a crew of four
- V9 and V14 prototypes were powered by Jumo 222 engines
- V11, V12 and V13 prototypes were powered by DB 606 engines
Junkers Ju 288 C-1
- V101 and V102 prototypes powered by DB 606 engines
- prototype V103, V104, V105 and V106 DB 610 engines
Junkers Ju 288 C-2
- change of armament to 2x MG 151/15
Junkers Ju 288 C-3
- was to be a night fighter
Junkers Ju 288 D
- five aircraft were armed with the BK 5 50 mm cannon and so were deployed against Allied bombers
Junkers Ju 288 G
- this is only a project, the aircraft was to carry the Gerät 104 Münchhausen, which was to fire a 355.6 mm projectile against ship targets
In total, 22 prototypes were produced
