Club / Caliber - a new generation of Russian naval missiles

The attack of vessels of the Russian Caspian Fleet with flat-track missiles on Syrian radicals aroused a great response in the world. Fleets that the world basically had no idea existed at all, and certainly not at all, could represent any real fighting force, with the exception of local protection of the Russian coast against smugglers. The general surprise was even greater when it turned out that they represented a combat alliance capable of strategic deployment in the distant surroundings.

Our famous losses - 1278 Moravian field

As is well known, Jára Cimrman created a historical triptych about famous lost Czech battles. There have been more groundbreaking events in our history and they are shrouded in many legends and ambiguities. For some, we are still beating our breasts, as this tragedy was a turning point, and if we put everything into a historical context, it is not so certain about the "fracture" of many of the famous data. Respectively, for some it is not certain whether the opposite result would not actually be worse, as the event unfortunately had only bad solutions.

Our famous losses - battle at Lipan

"Then let's decide with our fists!" It is said that an unknown warrior on a plain below the Leipzig Mountain ended in vain arguing on May 30, 1434. The Battle of Lipany is one of the most famous losses in Czech history, with the most interesting question being why. It is not at all clear why the loss of one of the two Czech parties should mean such a tragedy that we remember it even after almost six centuries. But this general opinion is a fact that makes no sense to question. So let's try something else. Let's describe the situation, the battle and possible alternative scenarios. Based on them, we will think about a key question. Was it really such a groundbreaking battle, as some tell us?

Our famous losses - battle at Mohac

As the history of perhaps every European nation, Czech history knows several fateful dates, to which we return to this day. Some are truly groundbreaking, others seem to us only through the abyss of ages, although in reality it was a sad event, but in the long run not much has changed. It is interesting that the date of one of the most important battles of the early modern period is not completely forgotten, but few would consider it fateful. Perhaps we even feel as if they don't even concern us, which is a complete mistake. It concerned us, quite fundamentally. Just because it is the third battle in our history, when the Czech king died.

The arms industry debacle after 17.11.1989

One of the eternally mentioned wrongs committed by the Czechs against the Slovaks is the debacle of the conversion of Slovak arms production in Slovakia in connection with 17 November. And it was on this subject that JS sent me two absolutely brilliant links. With a concentration of unquestionable data and moreover of SLOVAK provenance! No article written by Czech hand! The suspicion that some Czech nationalist is distorting history on purpose is automatically eliminated!

When rockets stopped flying years ago

The year was 1987, and Gorbi and Reagan had agreed to ban medium-range missiles. We are 31 years older and the idol of all Russians is no longer with us, Gorbi is a forgotten, tragicomic old man and it seems that medium-range missiles are returning to the scene. With full parade.
The United States has been pointing out to Russia for some time that it is violating the treaty. And it all culminated last week when Washington issued an ultimatum - either Moscow will verifiably and credibly implement this agreement, which has been violating for a long time, OR within the next 60 days, or we will immediately terminate the mid-range ban agreement and start re-installing it! Point!
