K100

The K100 is a self-loading service pistol. It is manufactured by Grand Power spol. s r. o. It is a Slovak weapon from the Slovak designer Ing. Jaroslava Kuracinu. The pistol has a caliber 9 mm Luger.

Description:

At the outset, I am pleased to say that this is not a copy of the CZ 75. As the designer himself admits, the model was a pistol Steyr M1912 with a rotating barrel design. But compared to the Steyr system, the K100 has a much better resolution. The barrel is milled into the thread and the rotation of the barrel by 35 degrees is enabled by the transverse pin, which acts as a bearing roller (the barrel rolls helically on it). Such locking results in a firmer fit, especially with almost no fluctuations, which is reflected in particular in the accuracy of the weapon when firing. The finish is made by precision casting from chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel. Thick-walled barrels are mainly made to order by the Hungarian company Fég. The barrel, like all other metal parts, has a tenifer-surface treatment (Tenifer-QPQ).

The magazines are equipped with a plastic heel and have a capacity of 15 rounds. The frame, bow, trigger, sights and some controls of the weapon are made of high quality polymer (Polyamide GF-30). The trigger and drum mechanism is located in a metal container, which is hidden in a plastic body and a hardened pressed sheet is used to hold the breech. The well-ergonomically shaped handle fits well in the hand and does not slip even in sweaty hands. The weapon has a classic double-sided fuse and there is also a striker fuse against unintentional firing when the weapon falls.
The latest version of the K100 is also equipped with a drum cock release system. The weapon has fixed three-point sights with a white line. They deal with them quite well, although the target could be even more pronounced. Reportedly, there is no problem with exchanging them for others.

Trigger:

The trigger has a relatively short run, which most shooters will appreciate (but can be shortened even more), it is smooth and without a drop. In DA mode, the resistance is approx. 30-35 N. In SA mode, it is said to be 25 N. Shooting from a weapon is pleasant and the recoil is surprisingly low, smooth and manageable (these are all my subjective impressions after about 200 shots). The weapon is accurate. It can achieve a dispersion of 5-6 cm per 15 m and 8-10 cm per 25 m.

TTD:

Caliber: 9 mm Luger
Tank capacity: 15
Length: 202.5 mm
Height without magazine: 133.5 mm
Width: 40 mm
Barrel length: 108 mm
Weight without hopper: 740 g
Weight with empty container: 820g

Additional information:

The utility value of the weapon is increased by the possibility of using tactical accessories such as a flashlight or a laser marker. The weapon is suitable not only for carrying, business purposes or self-defense, but also for IPSC practical shooting shooters.

For armed forces, there is a variant with the possibility of firing a dose of two shots, which switches the fuse lever to single-shot mode. The production of K100 in calibers is also planned in the future .40 S&W and .45 ACP a compact version.

It is a very promising construction. Wink The current models are 100% fine-tuned compared to the slightly untapped verification series. 8 =) As far as the surface treatment of the barrel is concerned, it is no longer differentiating, because it is already made of chrome-vanadium steel compared to the verification series (STN 15 260). Tenifer, at the temperature it is made, loosens the hardness of the material. The current steel has a stable teniferation hardness of 53Hrc (to supplement, the carbon steel of class 13 used, for example, in the Glock, it has only about 30Hrc after the teniferation:!: - so the change was positive).

: D At present, the designer Ing. Jaroslav Kuracina took his work one step further and, especially for the requirements of customers from the USA, created the K100 Mk6 model by modifying the frame:

... The K100 Mk6 model, built on a new frame, is the result of incorporating the most stringent requirements for a universal weapon. suitable for both shooters of practical disciplines and special units of force components. The shaping and roughening of the frame for the Grand Power Mk6 models is even more elaborated compared to the standard K100 frame, with an emphasis on quality and grip efficiency in all conditions. After consulting with sports shooters, the roughening was changed in the interest of even greater efficiency and a new approach to the magazine shaft was created. The frame has a new vertical bar and a pleasant option for the customer when buying. choosing between emptying the hopper using the button (pictured) or the lever, similar to H&K W P99. For the armed forces around the world, it is a leading time. frame equipped with universal tactical bar MIL STD 1913 Picantinny rail. The manual fuse has new plastic fingerboards with a protrusion ...

The American company STI International has shown interest in the Grand Power K-100.

STI has been on the U.S. market for 17 years and supplies its weapons to the FBI, the U.S. Navy, and the anti-terrorist and anti-drug commandos.

The American company assembles about ten thousand pistols a year and also supplies them to the FBI. One weapon ranges in price from $ 1,500 to $ 3,000.

Among the celebrities used are STI International products such as Tom Cruise and Tony Curtis.

Diskuse

Good day,
I would like to respond to some basic information about the K-100. The duck's barrel is not produced in the Hungarian company Fég, because I think it has disintegrated, but the main steel from Uherský Brod is supplied by Česká Zbrojovka. It's a thick-walled barrel that really lasts about one shooter's life, maybe even more. One test duck is available for inspection and testing in Zvolen. It has fired over 110,000 rounds without cleaning and so far meets the standards. See the manufacturer's website for more information. Furthermore, I would like to release information about the upcoming news, I hope that Jarko Kuracina is not angry. I had a new 9 mm Makarov pistol in my hands with a dynamic breech. Then a set for shooting 22LR (barrel, magazines) similar to Cadets from CZ is about to be prepared. We just have something to look forward to from the GP workshop.

Good day.

The K-100 pistol is a modern and successful weapon suitable for self-defense, sport shooting and service use. Due to the fact that the designer used the old-new discarded system of locking the ammunition chamber, the weapon had to overcome the opinions of the shooting public that in conventional weapons, new solutions can no longer be devised. Furthermore, the designer faced the difficult task of enforcing the weapon in a crowded arms market. For manufacturers such as CZ, Glock, H & K, S & W, Taurus and others, it was simply a courage to be a member of GP.

Good day.

Information from the previous post comes from the company GP s.r.o ..

Duck problems and ailments:

I received a private message from Misa, where we solved a case where the test K-100 from Zvolen had a problem with the crossings of the charged cartridges. Reloaded ammunition has been a rather inflected term in the shooting community lately. There is money available, various bullets, matches and machines for reloading ammunition, and let's face it, the price of ammunition will then be reduced by half. And that nowadays attracts passionate shooters to reload ammunition. Even with the equipment available today, it really looks easy. Another factor - S&B began producing 9 mm Luger FMJ ammunition with a steel cartridge. These are also cheaper cartridges than cartridges with a brass cartridge. So some greener shooters invest and there is a problem. They save on dust, on cartridges, even on gun oil, and problems start.

Now my problem. When I bought the K-100 Mk6, as a new and inexperienced shooter (although I have a college department weapons and ammunition PV) I did not know what ammunition to buy. Of course, I bought the cheapest cartridges from S&B with a steel cartridge. The first 250 shots were not a problem. But then the problem came pretty well. She stuck first, then second and third, and so on. I wrote to the GP forum and we started a discussion. I found that the steel cartridge has 20% more pulling force of the cartridge after the shot + hardness of steel and brass is different and the extractor jumped on the steel cartridge, while the brass bites + unstarted weapon has at least clearance and after 500 rounds is dry on the leading edges carbon (something like cement) so the breech is more braked than just a return spring = stuck cartridge. Of course, the Glockers immediately reacted that everything (Glock) ate them, even peas. But then information appeared about the broken extractor on the Glock (steel cartridges). So there are more ways to just choose the right one. Otherwise, the Glock vs. K-100, there is also a difference in the will of the charge chamber, but this is a slightly different problem that is written on the GP forum. The information comes from my own experience but I am very happy to read your comments or experiences.

So whoever can't and doesn't need to put all the trash in there.

... will not give me one more remark on ammunition. I also shot reloaded bullets from a friend and they were absolutely perfect. S&B is neither the worst company nor the best, I know people who swear what their mouths allow. Really top manufacturers don't have to be expensive. You need to try and find your way.

Have a nice day so try to advise me GP K100 Dynamic or GP K100 Target?
I'm shooting a target so far, but in time I'd like an IPSC.
and what is the difference in them apart from the criteria.
Thanks for the answers
