The original Hungarian pistol designed by Rudolf Frommer, based on a long recoil in which the barrel moves with a breech along part of the course. the weapon was chambered in two calibers and offered to the civilian market at the end of 1911 under the name "Frommer STOP". in 1912 it was introduced as a service weapon in the Hungarian part of the Austro-Hungarian Army (Honvéda). It was introduced in the army as a 1912 model only in the caliber of 7.65 mm Browning (.32 ACP). A similar weapon was also used by the gendarmerie and police in the then Hungary.
The system of the weapon is relatively complex, at the moment of firing, the barrel and breech are locked together and thus move in the slide together as one unit, thus simultaneously tensioning the return spring around the barrel. In the rear end position the breech is caught and the system unlocks, the released barrel returns to the front position by the force of the return spring, while the charge is pulled out and thrown out, when returning the barrel to the front position the lock is unlocked and it returns by spring into the front position and at the same time inserts a new hub. The advantage of the system is the use of weight mainly to reduce kickback, but the system is quite complex and demanding to clean.
After the war, a scale model called Frommer BABY was also produced over the course of 20 years, intended purely for the civilian market. The manufacturer of all these weapons was the company Femaru-Fegyver es Gepgyar (FEG) in Budapest.
