The company Rheinmetall-Borsig in 1944 was developing a new gun for reconnaissance support vehicles (mittlere Schützenpanzerwagen (7,5cm) (Sd.Kfz.251/22) (AK 7 B 84), Sd.Kfz.234 mit 7,5cm AK 7 B 84, Aufklärungspanzer 38 D mit 7,5cm AK 7 B 84). However, it did not have the necessary platform for testing, so it used a French artillery tractor Lorraine 37L under construction. The source below contains a rough drawing of the vehicle taken from an English post-war BAOR report to Technical Intelligence (11/1945).
