Medaile o průměru 39 mm má lehce oboustranně zvýšený okraj ve středu dekorace je postava novináře, rebela a bouřliváka Karla Havlíčka Borovského. Postava novináře je zahalena v plášti, který připomíná antické roucho a samotná postava antického rétora.
Při okraji medaile je napis:
„PŘISLIBUJTE SI MNĚ, VYHROŽUJTE SI MNĚ – PŘECE ZRÁDCEM NEBUDU"

Revers:
Medaile má ve své horní části větší číslici „9“ pod kterou je lipová ratolest převázaná ozdobnou stuhou na které jsou jubielní letopočty:
- 1918 zformování jednotky
- 1948 jubielní výroční datum pluku

Při okraji medaile je rozložený nápis:
„STŘELECKÝ PLUK" – (v horní části)
„KARLA HAVLÍČKA BOROVSKÉHO" – (v dolní části)

Ouško k upevnění medaile na stuhu je kulovité .

Commemorative medal of the 9th Rifle Regiment was established in connection with the regimental celebration ( Infantry Regiment 9 ) dedicated to the establishment of this unit in Russia. However, the regimental celebration was modest and in essence it was only a ceremonial arrival of the unit associated with the order of the regiment commander and thanks for the service. The participation of the guests was minimal and the old legionaries even had the recommended participation in civilian clothes without tsarist decorations (so much a direct participant in the ceremonial start of the unit).
The medal was established during 1948.
The medal with a diameter of 39 mm was handed over in plain paper etudes with a small ribbon and a confirmation decree of award. The front page with the figure of Karel Havlíček Borovský is based on the Kutná Hora statue of Josef Strachovský (VAM).
