Anotation: 		Kniha, první ze dvou dílů, se zabývá leteckými operacemi během počáteční fáze bojů v severní Africe. Na začátku publikace jsou představeny síly a výzbroj hlavních protivníků v oblasti - Itálie, Velké Británie a Francie. Následuje přehled operací deníkovou formou, kapitoly jsou děleny podle měsíců. Vždy je nejprve popsána situace na pozemním bojišti, následuje den po dni přehled operací letectev. Autoři se snaží zaznamenat každou ztrátu, v případě boje se snaží určit, které jednotky se mohly utkat. V knize jsou popsány i operace francouzského letectva, které je na tomto bojišti většinou opomíjeno, a to včetně prvních britsko-francouzských střetů po kapitulaci Francie.
