Overview of S-13 missile types
S-13 - the basic version of the S-13 missile with a penetrating warhead (the warhead has a total weight of 21kg and contains 1.82kg of explosive, the rest of the weight is made up of a hardened penetrating casing and fragmentation bodies in the explosive). It is used against lightly armoured targets and infantry.
The S-13B is an improved version of the basic S-13 missile with greater penetration. The warhead does not contain fragmentation bodies and their weight is compensated by the warhead's reinforced armor piercing jacket, which allows a penetration of 3 meters against ground and 1 meter against concrete (0.75m is given for reinforced concrete). The warhead contains 1.92kg of explosive.
S-13TS-13T - The S-13T contains a combined burst warhead and is primarily intended for use against airfield surfaces. The front of the warhead is taken from the S-13B and also has the same burst capacity. The rear part of the warhead consists of a conventional fragmentation jacket filled with explosive (2.7kg) and during an attack this part is intended to destroy live forces and aircraft on the airfield. The warhead contains a double-action fuze (the penetration part is fired with a delay of 2s, the fragmentation part is fired by contact)
S-13OF - A fragmentation variant of the S-13 missile designed against live forces and lightly armored equipment. The warhead is made of a double fragmentation casing with 7 kg of explosive. It is equipped with a contact fuse.
S-13D - A special variant of the S-13 missile with a fuel-air warhead against enemy live forces. The incendiary component consists of a phosphorus incendiary cartridge and liquid propellant (14.2 kg). The igniter of the rocket is either distance or time (for earlier manufactured rockets).
S-13DF - Modified S-13D rocket with napalm (14.6 kg) instead of liquid propellant.
