Diesel engine for various fuels T 928-17
The T 928 diesel engine (from engine serial number 23781) and marked T 928-17 was modified for operation on various fuels and their mixtures.
Based on the modifications, it is possible to burn NM diesel, PL-4 aviation kerosene, BA-80 and BA-90 motor gasoline with a mixture of diesel. The combustion process in the combustion of gasoline differs by a sharper increase in pressure in the cylinder due to a greater delay in the ignition of gasoline.
Multi-fuel engine operation is enabled by mounted attachments.
Combustion of gasoline mixtures with diesel or kerosene is solved as a substitute operation. The design of the engine ensures reliable engine operation in this replacement operation for a driving time of 10000 km, without shortening the engine life.
Distinction from the T 928-10 engine:
1 - the injection nozzles have a reduced space between the nozzle needle seat and the injection openings,
2 - the injectors have a modification for draining dripping fuel from the nozzles,
3 - cylinder heads are also adapted for drainage of dripping fuel from nozzles,
4 - valve seats are made of special hard steel,
5 - the fuel system is supplemented by an electric pump CS 1 A located behind the driver's booth, which ensures the supply of fuel even at high temperatures,
6 - the injection pump is modified so that it prevents fuel from spilling into the pump housing so that the oil filling is not degraded by petrol.
7 - the two-cell fuel cleaner is replaced by a single-cell cleaner.
8 - the engine is equipped with a fine centrifugal oil cleaner, mounted on the side of the crankshaft,
9 - to facilitate the start of the engine, an auxiliary starting device JIKOV 132 is mounted, which must be used at temperatures below 0 ° C.
In addition, a multi-fuel vehicle has the following devices or different components:
- three-position fuel supply stop on the injection pump,
- CS 1 A electric pump, controlled by a switch on the switchboard in the driver's cab,
- injection pump with waste fuel and modified oil discharge from regulator housing and injection pump housing,
- injection nozzles,
- feed pump,
- fuel densitometer.
