Medaile byla udělována těm, kteří sloužili v ozbrojených silách v 1. světové válce. Kriteria udělování byla obdobná jako u Medaile Vítězství. Byla ražena z patinovaného bronzu, rozměry 31 x 47,5 mm. Na rubu byla značena iniciálami výtvarníka E.D.B. Bylo autorizováno nošení velkého počtu různých znaků na stuhách, koruna, křížek, hvězdička, jedna kotva, dvě zkřížené kotvy, různé letopočty apod. Existují exempláře v různých odstínech bronzu a i ve stříbře.
