The battery was formed between March and May 1943 in Lanlingen. It was armed with one 75mm anti-tank gun and four 8 cm multi-barrel rocket launchers. The battery was placed under the command of II SS Tank Corps. It was deployed mostly in coordination with the SS 102 rocket launcher detachment. In the summer it took part in the Battle of Kursk. In October the battery returned to Lanlingen, where it was equipped with more rocket launchers.

In April 1944 it was sent to Narva, where it was deployed as part of the III SS Tank Corps. The battery was among the units surrounded in Kuronsk. In this cauldron the unit used up all its ammunition, the artillery was destroyed and the men then fought as infantry. In mid-January 1945, the surviving members of the unit were evacuated and a rebuilt battery was assembled in Lübbingen. It was apparently armed with ten rocket launchers and sent to the Oder front in February, where it operated as part of the V. SS Mountain Army Corps, several times under the command of SS Rocket Troop 506. In the Battle of Berlin the battery was destroyed.
