The higher the czechoslovak fighter unit in the Uk was established 3. June 1942 on the base of Exeter within the 10. a group of RAF. The main task of the were accompaniments bomber aircraft over France. Later the unit operated at the base Ibsleywhere is the beginning of the year 1944 became part of the 2nd TAF and has begun to support the preparation of the landing of allied troops in France. In July 1944 withdrawn to the air defence and up to the end of the war, carried out mainly accompaniments of heavy bombers over Germany and occupied Europe. After the war in August 1945 returned to Czechoslovakia.

In the framework of the RAF (british Royal air force) operated under the names of Exeter (Czechoslovak) Wing, Ibsley (Czechoslovak) Wing, Well. 134 (Czechoslovak) Wing, Bradwel Bay Wing and Manston Wing.
