The North American B-45 Tornado was one of the first US jet bombers and took off for the first time in 1947. After a brief deployment to Strategic Air Command as one of the first Cold War nuclear bombers, the B-45 under the name RB-45C developed into an excellent photo reconnaissance aircraft and performed in this task some of the most important spy flights of its time. A few of these machines have also been used in Korea.
