Dne 30.6.1955 během nácviku vzdušného boje ve dvojici ztratil vedoucího a vzápětí i orientaci, nereagoval na pokyny řídího létání, létal vysokou rychlostí v různých kurzech, po spotřebování paliva a vysazení motoru provedl vynucené přistání do mladého lesního porostu u obce Hořičky u Náchoda. Pilot por. Alois Jurník vyvázl nezraněn, letoun zrušen. Celkový nálet letounu 18.hodin.
