The weapon was designed for "short" 7.62 mm caliber round as a self-loading. The weapon has a bayonet firmly attached near the muzzle, which allows comfortable shooting from a rifle. The missile has a deadly effect of 2,800m. Rifle vz. 52 and a machine gun



Puška vz. 52/57
Rifle model 52 was adapted to the Soviet ammunition. This rifle is used by the ACR for representational purposes (Castle Guard).

The rifles for the Castle Guard are devalued, they have a new stock (I guess) made of walnut wood and chrome-plated metal parts. It has no tray. In this version, it weighs about 10 kg.


The original version vz. 52 had better ballistic properties than vz 52/57 due to the ammunition used. During the start of production of this rifle, many problems arose, especially with the quality of Slovak production. To what extent did the reconstruction pay off for the Soviet charge, when at the time when production finally began, Sa vz. 58 is at the discretion of each reader.
The gas nozzle is designed progressively around the barrel. The analysis of the conclusion is performed similarly to Sa vz. 58, only the pin is missing.

Here I have to respond to the previous post. Disassembly of the breech of the rifle vz.52 or vz.52/57 is much different than the SA vz.58 and also the design. PU vz.52, in contrast to SA.vz58 has a separate cover of the breech and return springs, locking the breech is a swinging bolt, behind the chamber with two teeth into a recess in the breech housing. The extractor and ejector are solved completely differently and the percussion mechanism is easily removable with a hammer (ala. Garand M1). The rifle can thus be removed from the stock very easily and quickly as part of the cleaning, and in the event of a defect in the trigger mechanism, it can be replaced in its entirety, without the need for armorer intervention.

Since when is vz.52 introduced as a ceremonial weapon? In the footage from the welcoming Soviet delegation at the airport in 1970, the soldiers have vz.24?

The transition (respectively the end of repeaters) was in the "sixties". The question is whether even then, repeaters were not used as ceremonial weapons for various parades. As far as I remember, in the early seventies, the soldiers with Sa.58 stood by the castle. But it is not very suitable for various attractions with welcome. Another question is whether what they had in the castle guard were vz.24 rifles. After the war, they were not manufactured in our country, there were only about 50,000 of them in service and most rifles were German (also produced after the war) rifles vz.98N, As far as I know the vz.52/57 are incapacitable pieces made for "parade" (but I'm wrong) So there are more uncertainties about HS weapons. And by the way, the vz.98N rifle is not on the war.

I think that the chrome-plated 52/57 in the Czech Republic was overheated and today it does not even have an accessible shaft of the magazine (it is simply hidden in the stock). As far as I know, other than the chrome-plated version 52/57 is no longer with the castle guard, the standard weapon should be vz.61 scorpion used outside the "public" performance.

The castle guard has 11 functional 52/57 for the purpose of honorary salvos, eg in the death of presidents. On the contrary, the Prague Honor Guard uses the classic 58.
