P-50N

The P-50N heavy low loader (N=low-platform trailer) is designed for fast transport of tracked and wheeled equipment and other material weighing up to 50 tons. It is designed for driving in a set with a tractor on roads I to III. class, on paved roads and on tolerable terrain without external unevenness and obstacles.

The low loader is a six-axle trailer with a flat platform bed. It consists of a frame with a platform and access bridges, axles with vehicle wheels, brake system, steering, hydraulic equipment and wiring. Two two-part tilting access bridges for approaching the transported equipment are connected to the rear sloping part. Loading and folding are facilitated by the height of the platform in the range of 160 mm and its transverse tilt by up to 12 °. The bridges are raised and tilted hydraulically. At the rear of the trailer there is a hinge for connecting another brake or push vehicle.

The low loader was developed in the first half of the 1980s at the Research Institute of Construction and Earthmoving Machinery in Brno. P-50N were manufactured in ZTS Stavostroj n. P. In Nové Město nad Metují. At the turn of the 80's and 90's, the Czechoslovak army began to replace low loaders P-32 and P-50. However, the old low loaders were not completely replaced by new P-50Ns.
