After the end of the war is pridelený to Generálnemu staff and nasledovného year is designated as assistant general polného marshalAritomo Yamagata. In 1906 it poverený as a military attache in China and nasledovného year, 1907, in Germany, in decembri 1908 sa becomes major. From may 1909 to June 1910 is again a military attache at the velvyslanectve in the Berlin and after svojom now are back to eating pridelený to kancelárii Generálneho staff.
From November 1910 to februára 1915 is again asistentom general polného marshalAritomo Yamagata. In this time, in júny 1913 sa becomes podplukovníkom. Vo februári 1915 is pridelený to 3. pešiemu regiment, in may 1916 sa vracia ku generálnemu staff and in júly 1916 is menovaný colonel.
In októbri 1917 is seconded to the Brussels as a military attache, where he of the Slovak line vidieť and študovať modern mechanizovanú war. Masaki was closely associated with the generálomSadao Araki and his imperiálnou frakciou that presadzovala totalitné, militantná and expansionistické idei, Watanabe bol umierneným member of this frakcie. Many rebelujúci dôstojníci of the incident 26. februára however rešpektovali Masaki and gave všetkú blame Watanabemu for personálne changes. Watanabe was the only military person given mali rebels on the piece. The rebels prekvapili Watanabe in his house in Ogikubo in the night, 26.02.1936 and zastrelili him kulometom before očami his wife and daughter.
