. a group of Fighter squadron 2[/heading]

Originated 1. may 1939 in Döberitz by renaming the ./JG 131. The group consisted of 1., 2., 3. and 10. the squadron and was equipped with aircraft the Messerschmitt Bf 109 D-1, in may, but started rearming on the machine the Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-1. In the framework of the mobilization in front of the Polish dragging a group of 25. August moved to Fürstenwalde, where she was in charge of air cover for German capital. 2. September but came back to Döberitz, although the task was still the same. To 2. November 1939 moved to frankfurt Rebstocku, where she had to guard the western border. In march 1941 the group moved to the Théville and in June Brest where should ensure the protection of the port. The rest of the group at this time switched on the machine Focke-Wulf Fw 190 a-2 and Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-3. 19. August 1942 the group was deployed to repel the allied landings at Dieppe. In January 1943 the group moved to the Tricqueville. The group was subordinated to the newly created 11. squadron. On the other hand, was in march 1. the squadron moved to Brittany, where it was subordinated to the III. group. In April, he moved the headquarters of the group along with 3. and 11. squadron to Bernay. In January 1945, the group participated in operation BODENPLATTE, and was assigned the mission to attack the airport in Sint-Truiden. Everything turned out wrong. The group had 35 serviceable machines, however, only 33 pilots.
