11. squadron Fighter squadron 2

In mid-may 1942 the order was issued to allocate 1. a squadron of Fighter squadron 2 from the subordination of its . group and rename it to 11. squadron. Even in may there was a renaming of the ground part and at the beginning of June the process was completed for aviation personnel. The reason for the changes was the designation of the squadron for conversion to altitude fighter squadron. The unit has therefore been equipped with aircraft Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-1. Initially was located in Saint-Pol, but in July moved to Tricqueville and in September to Poix-Nord. To 4. November 1942 was the squadron exempted from subordination of the JG 2 and moved through Sicily to Tunisia, where it operated in the framework of the Air force 2 and was merged with the 6. squadron JG 53. After the departure of the 11. the squadron of JG 2 began in December 1942 the formation of the new 11. the squadron in the of Beaumont-le-Roger.
