The commander of the squadron to 01.09.1939 was a captain (Hauptmann) Reinhold Oelze.

03.09.1939 in the bombing of the area of Mława-Strzegowo between 17.10-17.30 it was anti-aircraft artillery shot down Dornier do 17 Z (U5+_N). The observer, lieutenant (Oberleutnant) Rudolf Krochmann fell, two members of the crew fell into Polish captivity, and the fourth man of the crew is probably managed to escape through the front.
Another loss of the squadron was To 17 Z (U5+IN), which was damaged by anti-aircraft fire and after 40 minutes the flight landed emergency in the stomach in East Prussia. On board was injured, captain (Hauptmann) Franz Schiffer. The rate of damage - 40%.
Other damaged machines of the squadron were:
The do 17 Z (U5+_N) - observer staff sergeant (Feldwebel) Albert Hein injured. Degree of damage to 30%.
The do 17 Z (U5+_N) - sergeant (huge network) Franz Lepszy injured. The rate of damage to 20%.

My note:
Kill machinery commander Krochmanna can be attributed to the account of the Polish 81. motorized anti-aircraft battery, type B, because in this space have not been other Polish anti-aircraft units. Damage to other aircraft 5. the squadron could cause both the firing battery, firing from light weapons units 20. infantry division or 8. infantry division..
