Although open sources of information repeatedly state that major-general Shabarov was chief of staff only until January 1944, when he was transferred as a lecturer at the Department of Tactics of the Military Academy of Mechanization and Motorization, from the attached documents 5. Guards Mechanized Corps, it is clear that he is listed as the Chief of Staff of the Corps as late as March and April 1944. Which corresponds with the new Chief of Staff of the Corps Major Rjazansky taking over in mid-May 1944.
