Sopwith F.1 Camel D6042 served in 43 Squadron in 1918. It was flown for a long time by Captain Henry Wollett. The metal engine cowling was light grey, the wood panels under the cockpit a natural wood colour, the canvas fuselage and wings a PC 10 khaki brown.

The pilot's personal symbol, a green dragon in an elliptical circle, was painted on the left fuselage below the cockpit.

For balloon attacks, Captain Wollett had the upper surfaces of the wings and horizontal tail surfaces painted with white puffs.
