2.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 10 "Tannenberg"

(Unit Code: T1+)

the Formation of the squadron
(November 1938 - August 1939)
The squadron was formed 01.11.1938 in the Neuhausenu of 2.(H)/11) and was armed with aircraft Heinkel He 46. During the spring and summer of 1939 it was re-equipped with the aircraft the Henschel Hs 126.

Invasion of Poland and north Germany
(September 1939 - march 1940)
Before the invasion of Poland from the Neuhausenu moved to Ganshorn in East Prussia with 12 aircraft, Hs 126, to support operations 3. Armee from the area of Graudenz-Mlawa east and south towards the area Bialystok - Brest-Litovsk. Then probably back to Neuhausenu to the conclusion of the campaign at the end of September 1939. The evidence suggests that it was subordinate to the Luftflotte 2 in northwest Germany at the end of 1939 or beginning of 1940. Crash Hs 126 recorded for Fassbergu on 10.01.1940 and in Travemunde on 22.03.1940.

Occupation of Denmark and Norway
(April 1940 - January 1941)
In April 1940 she was assigned to X. Fliegerkorps in support of ground operations XXI. Armeekorps in Norway. When moving to the north across the Aalborg there was 20.04.1940 during the flight to the collision of two Hs 126 and subsequent plane crash that claimed the lives of both crews. Upon arrival to the Oslo-Fornebu 21.04.1940 were 4 aircrafts Hs 126 damaged on the ground during a night raid of the RAF from 22.04.1940 on 23.04.1940. During the next night an air raid from 01.05.1940 on 02.05.1940 was on the ground destroyed by one of the Hs 126. The next Hs 126 B-1 was lost due to anti-aircraft fire of the british units in Mo in middle Norway, the pilot and observer were captured. Squadron 28.05.1940 left Trondheim-Vaernes and moved to Germany, movements after this date, however, are not known.
One of the sources states that the squadron moved to Belgium, probably at the end of may in support of 18. Armee and then continued in the north of France. This information, however, cannot be confirmed and appears doubtful. On 30.08.1940 bázovala squadron on the coast of the English channel in the subordination of Koluft 9 in support of VIII. Armeekorps for the planned invasion of England. In November 1940 she was back in Germany. On 17.12.1940 the fatal accident of the airplane in Eschweiler in north-west Germany, which suggests the presence of the squadron on any one of the airports in this area.

On 19.06.1941 there was a strange event, when the 3 aircraft Fi 156 (T1+NS, T1+OK, T1+PK) belonging to the state of the squadron were reported as lost during transport flights to the east from the Gleiwitz in Silesia. In mid-September after the procedure via Zhytomyr to support operations 6. Armee in the area Boryspil and then in Belgorod from December 1941 to march 1942. On 10.04.1942 the squadron moved to Charkow-Woitschenko for conversion to aircraft Focke-Wulf Fw 189.
