Bruno / Brun
Bruno of Saxony was the eldest son of Liudolfa, the founder of the saxon dynasty Liudolfovců, and his wife's Ody. He was born around the year 830 or 840, and after the death of his father in the year 866 assumed the government in the ancestral domain, in the eastern part of Old Saxony and in Thuringia. While his father is in the contemporary sources referred to as dux orientalis Saxonum so the duke of east Saxony (ostfálský duke), Brunona already Widukind of Corvey in his Res gestae saxonicae called dux totius Saxonum so the duke of the whole of Saxony.
