PLAB-250-120 is equipped with a pair of lighters. In the front (lower) part of the bomb is an impact lighter, in the rear (upper) part is a hydroacoustic lighter. The bomb is most effective at shallow depths (max. Effective depth 300 m), the radius of destruction reaches 10 m. The bombing takes place at altitudes from 50 to 8000 m [* 1 *] at speeds up to 1000 km/h [* 2 *]. The bomb is equipped with an aerodynamic braking device, which brakes the bomb after throwing up to a speed of max. 10 m/s with which it penetrates below the water surface.
