The most successful fighter group of the Romanian air force.

Based on 1. June 1940.

The Composition Of The Escadrile 53. vanatoare and Escadrile 57. vanatoare. The commander was lt. cdor. av. Alexandru "Popicu" Popisteanu. The group was founded at the airport Piper, near Bucharest.

At the end of August 1944 was absorbed by 9. group.
