Beaufortský circuit was created 27. April 1863 renaming Neuseského circuit, which included the station of the Atlantic and severokarolínské railway company (Atlantic and North Carolina Railroad Company) outside of New Bern. When the name change was the scope adjusted to include the area south of the line between Evans Mill and the river Neuse without severokarolínského Porthsmouthu. 18. August 1863 was Beaufortský circle renamed to Beaufortský sub-heading.
