Youth

Frederick Joseph Christensen Jr. was born into a family of Norwegian immigrants Frederick and Ruth Christensenových in Watertown, Massachusetts. Father Frederick was a machinist at Harvard university. Before the war he was in Boston college, where he studied music and then at the Massachusetts institute of technology [also](MIT).

air Force

In 1942 volunteered for the Army the United states air force as an air cadet and was included in the training in December 1942. After fighter training in July 1943 was lieutenant Christensen sent to England, where they joined the 8. air army. Soon as possible for the training unit at the airfield Atcham, where he acquainted with his future machine, the robust P-47 Thunderbolt.

P-47 Thunderbolt was a heavy, single-seat fighter was a machine that served on all the battlefields of the 2. world war. Was originally intended as a high-altitude fighter later won the French heaven's great name, in attacks on ground targets for its massive firepower, massive, powerful and extremely durable engine Pratt & Whitney, the speed in the dive, but for its incredible durability, which also had many of his pilots in it, that even with a heavily damaged aircraft was able to return to your base and land. Once prohásil one of his pilots, přislušník 368. fighter group George Sutcliffe:

"In the fight, you can absolutely count on, no matter how much you've got interference, Thunderbolt you always brought home".

It was produced from 1941 to 1945 and with 15 636 pieces is nejvyráběnější american fighter 2. world war. Pilots used to be often dubbed the "Jug" (the jug), because when he stood on his nose so he looked like a pitcher, allegedly arose not only from the shape of the aircraft but also as a shortened version of the other, more pertinent nicknames ... "Juggernaut" (juggernaut).
Due to its bulkiness and seeming ineptitude at it was flying two of the most successful american aces of the european battlefield: Francis "Gabby" Gabreski with 28 kills and Robert. Johnson with 27 kills, both members of the elite 56. fighter group where he headed after his training 26. August 1943 lieutenant Fred Christensen, to supplement the status, as a spare pilot.

This fighter group under the leadership of the legendary colonel Hubert "Hub" Zemkeho (hence the name "Zemkeho wolf pack") become with 677 and 1/2 kills, the most successful fighter group to the P-47 in 2. world war, the most successful in the 8. air army, after 354. fighter group (701 kills) 2. the most successful american fighter group in Europe, and with the number of 39 air ec is ranked at 3. instead of (354. and 357. they had identically 42).

62. fighter squadron

Become a part of the 62. fighter squadron and his first kill was gained exactly 3 months after his arrival, 26. November 1943, when close to Papenburg shot down in his P-47C-2RE "Ginger" with the matriculation LM-B, twin-engine Messerschmitt Bf-110 [also](combat report under the text).

Then moved on to a more modern type of P-47D, specifically on the P-47D-10RE "Boche Buster/Rozzie Geth" p. no 42-75207 LM-C which achieved most of their kills (9 solo kills, 1 shared and 2 damaged).

About 5 days later, 1. December he shot down another product of mr. Messerschmitt, this time more dangerous Bf-109 near Roermondu and 5 days after the new year had achieved a victory over the machine, this time from the workshop of Kurt Tank, the FW 190 on the way to Ans (combat report under the text) and a month later, 4. February, he scored another destroyed the Focke-Wulf (combat report under the text).

A few days after this victory would have promoted to first lieutenant and to his promotion added 11. February shoot down Bf-109 and became officially an air ace with 5 confirmed kills (combat report under the text). Then came the period when regularly to increase the score. In the first day "Big Week" 20. February he scored his first double victory when he sent in a group sent to earth by a single Dornier 217 and separately one Junkers 88.

Another one taking up to 6. march, when, during an air raid on Berlin in return get into the shooting down north of Lac Steinhuder FW-190 (combat report under the text). about 9 days later then reaches so far his greatest success, when during a single action again in the vicinity of the Lac Stenhuder down 2 Focke-Wulfy and 2 damage (combat report under the text), this is a respectable result, but the day of his greatest glory was yet to come. The following day, it reaches its 11. a separate wave and it is the last shoot on his "Boche Buster"(combat report under the text).

In April he is promoted to captain 15. the moon reaches its third double victory, once again the Focke-Wulfy 190 (combat report under the text). The reaches on the machine P-47D-21RE p. no 42-25512 with the matriculation LM-Q. Then arises in his sestřelech dvouměsícní pause during which again přesedlává on another machine and it becomes a P-47D-25RE "Miss Fire/Rozzie Geth II" s. no 42-26628 LM-C, which is unlike the previous versions equipped with a bubble canopy for better view for the pilot and running WEP (injection of a mixture of water and methanol into the cylinders), for short-term power increase and approximately 300 horsepower.

These machines had though about against the previous versions the advantage of better visibility from the cabin and higher performance, but they showed up at the same time and ailments. After the reduction of the stern due to the teardrop fuselage to enable the changed center of gravity and the machine was in flight less stable than its predecessor.

On this machine reaches "only" two more kills, one 27. June (combat report under the text), when he shoots down a Messerschmitt 109 and 5. July the Focke-wulf 190 (combat report under the text), during this event suffered its first combat damage and the following action had to fly with another machine.
And then finally, the time has come 7. July 1944, the day that the most famous, made him a legend and his name is plastered all over the 8. air army.

6 in one day

That day wasn't his personal machine repaired and then flew in the other P-47, specifically in the P-47D-R21E "Sylvia" s. no 42-25522 LM-H. The morning flew as the commander of 62. fighter squadron, which he led on bomber escort to Leipzig. After he fulfilled his duty and was returning back to base, I got him and his fellow soldiers an excellent opportunity to increase the score, when they saw the airport Gardelegen and saw a lot of parked aircraft, but then noticed a much better goal. 12 load třímotorových Junkers 52 approaching the airport for landing.

These machines pre-war construction were already hopelessly obsolete. Before the war, served in the civilian sector of the Lufthansa and, after the outbreak of the war served mainly as a transport, airborne, and supply of the machine. Their low speed (max. 265 km/h), zero passive protection of the hull and tanks (some version had an armored cabin of the pilot) and absolutely insufficient defensive armament consisting solely of a single machine gun MG 131 caliber 13 mm on the back and 2 MG 15 machine guns caliber 7.92 mm in the lateral stations of them was ridiculously easy target, especially even under the conditions when they went to the landing and their already so small dexterity was even smaller.

Christensen at them swooped down from a height of 3000 meters and opened fire on the machine located at the end of the formation. Transport aircraft hit the left part, downed it and quickly transferred the fire on the second machine, which caught fire and crashed. The third machine he tried to perform an evasive maneuver to the left, but Christensen him with hanging hit the tanks, which started to burn, the pilot with the machine tried to land, but shattered on the ground.

When Christensen equaled for the fourth Junkers his engine coughed and stopped, forgetting to switch tanks and ran out of gas. Chris had to quickly switch the tank and again start the engine at a height of hardly 30 meters. The engine fortunately, after switching the tanks spun through the air alone, and Chris could continue the attack on the fourth Junkers. Leveled him in my sights, fired, and achieved several hits. Transport aircraft tried to fire avoid, but crashed into the earth. Chris attacked 5. aircraft in formation, opened on him the fire and watched the missiles interfere with the machine into the fuselage and into the wings. Downed him before he could land. After the attack on the 6th. machine and also destroyed him.

Christensen for this event recalled as follows:

we have Completed the bomber escort, and leave it to other fighters and flew home, when I'm in surroundings Magdeburg saw a Junkers 52 preparing for landing.

Then I looked again and saw the others. I was at 10 000 feet (3000 meters), lowered the bow of the aircraft, fell and ranked in the last of the 12-man formation. I called the squadron and told them that I'm going after them, they asked me if I got the high-rise cover. He answered them: Hell no, come down.

I just held them and sestřeloval is. They were at an altitude of about 50-100 feet (15-30 meters), they had a chance.

This performance became in two minutes "ace in one day", but not only. He was not only the first pilot of 8. the air army, but also the first american pilot in Europe, who shot down 6 aircraft in a single action. It was a record that tied the score until about a month later another pilot, George E. Preddy from 354. fighter group 9. the air army, who, with his P-51 shot down during a single action 6 Bf-109.

During this event pilots 62. fighter squadron, including Christensen managed to shot down 10 of the 12 transport aircraft (6 notched Christensen, another pilot 3 and the other 1 aircraft). According to the records this was a machine from the 5. Staffel Transportgeschwader 3, but this unit reported a loss of only 5 machines.

Fred flew for 2 months, during which I did not achieve any victory, and in September 1944 he finished his operational tour, he was sent home and that for him the war was over.

Captain Fred Christensen flew a total of 107 combat missions, in the cockpit spent 121 combat + 220 training hours and achieved 21 separate kills, 1 shared half and 2 damaged machines. This result became the highest scoring ace of his squadron, 4. 56. fighter group, 5. on the P-47, 7. in 8. air army 12. between military fighters and 20. of all american pilots in the 2. world war.

8 times he received the Distinguished flying cross (DFC),
4 times Air medal,
2 Silver star,
The belgian War cross with bronze palm
and other honors listed in the table above.

Sinbad

During the service in 62. fighter squadron adopted in England, the black stray cat and named it Sinbad. It is said that it with him taking on combat flights in the cockpit as a talisman and also as a moral support for their pilots. After Fred was sent home, the cat he took with him. A family anecdote tells of a story when a war correspondent came to see 62. the wing and tried to take a picture of Sinbad, but constantly jumping around the collapsed parachutes here and there. In the squadron was a superstition that a parachute on which Sinbad jumps, so his owner will come back.

After the war

After the war, in 1947, became a member of the Massachusetts national guard, where he served until 1961. Commanded from the autumn of 1947 to 30. August 1961 102. tactical stíhacímu wing of the Massachusetts national guard. He was also commander of the base at Logan international airport from 1948 to 1961. He then joined the air reserves. In 1970 he went to backups and 17. October 1981 retired in the rank of lieutenant colonel finally retired.
Settled in Wayland, Massachusetts, was a jazz musician, played the clarinet and the piano. He became a member of the association of american fighter ec, of the Massachusetts aviation historical society and the Order of the Daidaliánů (association of american fighter pilots).
Died 4. April 2006 at the age of 84 years in Northborough on the complications associated with diabetes. He is buried at Mit national cemetery.

Constantly from him odpadávaly pieces of the airframe. I turned around sharply to the right to avoid a collision. He turned over on his back. I followed him when he was in a falling spiral, rolled him a smoke and dogville they too fell from the other pieces. Then the left part of his elevator broke off and he went into the tin of rotation. We launched an attack on the first group. In the meantime, would one of the stodevadesátek from the second group of separated and stuck behind the Red 3, which I followed and started him on fire, so I went after him. Launched the here fire at 300 yards in short bursts. In that moment, this German swerved right and the Red 3 (por. Reeder) it swerved to the left. Followed here the FW 190, I kept firing short doses, and every time it hit the fuselage, fairings and the roots of the wings.

My last dose were slightly above. I saw his cover and windshield are falling apart and a large piece of engine cowling broke away and podletěl under my right wing. Description:

I Flew like a Ground hog Blue 3, when Ashland reported that he met with several Fockewulfy 190, which roamed over the clouds. As his cover we switched to the light falling over him at a height of 20 000 feet. Fw 190 with five P-47čkami climbed underneath me. More here suppressed I got to him, but from fear of the intervention of the attacking Thunderboltů here shot. As she curled up under my nose, pulled back and turned around. On the outskirts of the fights here saw a P-47 with Fockewulfem for a tail both in a 50° climb. My number 2 from me I got disconnected, when it came to hunting down the first Fockewulf and I attacked the rising itself.

Descent with the sun in the back here to settle years behind him and with a fire wait until I see the square end and beamed cross on its brown wings. fairing and the belly of an enemy aircraft were slate grey. Launched the here fire 6. hours at 250 yards. When he saw here a couple of hits at the roots of the wings. After the launched light turn to the right, I sent him another dose and watched the other interventions all over the fairing of the engine, the fuselage and the wings. Then slid on its right wing, in something like půlobratu and went into a nose dive. I kept him up to the height of 15 000 feet and still shot, then I separated. As he hurtled still grew a trace of black smoke from its engine. Before reaching the clouds burst. From my position under the clouds I could see a layer of clouds nothing neprolétlo.

In return the way here still came across three or four Fw 190, but is much-rather scarce to encounter. Before I got into range, so they split up and in a circle head to the country and hoped for me to zlákaj. But under the clouds lurked more than 50 Fockewulfů. A few bounced as I continued to climb. In a moment when I could disrupt their attack that they pulled down to the ground and I is because the fuel had to let be. During the skirmish here when he saw three P-47čky, joined to them and we have created a squadron. Soon after, I heard behind me a clicking sound, a sharp bend to the right I noticed two FW 190 with podvěšenými přidavnými tanks shooting me from about 50 yards. Holding on the outer side of my turns, then it cut off and found himself at their tails, at that moment skopili comes to the earth, and in the tight spiral of falling. Joined here once again to squadron and flew home.

All in all the germans seemed to be very aggressive and resolute in your attack.

Lowered his here the nose of the aircraft and held two of them. The first stodevítka free herself and the other continued its descent up to 9 000 feet. I was 250 yards from him and sent him a lead. Unit: 62. fighter squadron
Time: 12:45
Location: to the north of Dümmmerského lake
Weather: 5/10 cloud cover with large gaps, visibility good
Type NL: Fw 190
enemy losses: one damaged Fw 190
Description:

I Flew like a Groundhog (squadron B, 62. squadron) Blue 3 and we conducted a meeting with the bombers. When the Blue Commander came across the scarecrow ["Bogie" (unidentified aircraft, presumably hostile) approx. translator], I cover him from above and when he returned, he headed back to the bombers. Over Dümmerským lake, join with me in two planes from 61. fighter squadron and we went to see four planes flying below us. It turns out that they are ours, and as they climbed, so we did high-rise cover.

Then I looked at the plane north of the Dümmerského the lake, which turned out to be a B-17tkou, flying at an altitude of 7 000 feet. As I drew and made a turn, I noticed Me-109tky pointing to the bombers. Attacked her from the sun, I got to the range, when the German noticed it and veered to the left into the clouds. Chased him down and was right behind him. It flew up to the clouds, I waited above him from where the flips, but I got him again. Then, I drew and after a few turnovers over the bombers, I saw another enemy aircraft, Fw 190 heading towards the bombers 5 000 feet below me.

Again here, attacked from the sun and flew under him to notice me. He dragged down under and I've been waiting until my reticle will not show 300 yards. When I opened fire, as the first I saw a big explosion, which was undoubtedly his auxiliary tank under the belly, which was followed by many hits in the fuselage and on the tail. As I continued shooting, I saw more and more interference around the roots of the wings and the enemy plane made a slight turn to the left. Předsadil here and continued to fire, I noticed interference on the left wing as offset years.

Mine at 2 000 feet, I again found myself on his six o'clock. He fired another dose, which cause more interference and flashes all over the fuselage and I was nucel fly through the debris and pieces of glass and steel and then saw the pilot jump out on a parachute, which I did also. His aircraft flew directly down at 40° fall, he fired another dose and then pulled away. I've been watching how the enemy plane crashed into the piles of wood below me. Then, when the intensity of the enemy flak escalated here called my number and told him we were going home. Just before my plane hit the stabilizer.

I saw a squadron of P-47ček from 63. fighter squadron at a height of 10 000 feet, so they provide high-altitude cover all the way off, when accompanied by a lone B-17tku long way across the North sea. My number me the whole time from the top excellent cover. The Me 109 was slate gray and the Fw 190 sea green.

I attach you one damaged Fw 190.

Description:

I Flew like a Groundhog (squadron B, 62. squadron), the Red Three, the bombers had 10 minutes late, and so the commander of our group decided to go ahead. In Dümmerského the lake I looked down and when he saw 10 enemy aircraft with podvěšenýma nádržema and 30 others that have emerged from the clouds and announced here it is. Groundhog Red commander followed me into the attack. We attacked them at a height of 10 000 feet. He chased two through the blanket of clouds, and saw how they do the left-handed turn, předsadil here and fired. Buttoned here the injection of the water and quickly got closer, all the time here shot and at a distance of 50 feet the enemy plane exploded in an orange fireball. I was so close that I had to by flying and had come from the explosion of the entire aircraft black.

Then I again chased one 190, but didn't get a devastating hit. I saw a couple of scratches, but then disappeared in the clouds. Drew here, he flew out of the clouds and when he saw Groundhog Red two, so I joined him. I saw the other two 190 and so I attacked them. We got into Lufberryho circle and when I was attracted I saw a Groundhog Red two stuck 190tka. When she was attacked, immediately it's swept up into the clouds. Noticed no intervention.

Then I chased 190tku into the clouds. I sent him a dose, the moment it flew into the clouds, I noticed a few hits on the wings. He pulled back and added to the squadron Groundhog. I saw the two next to each other flying Fw 190tky, passing directly below me. I called Groundhog Red commander and he, together with my number follow me. The krauts split into two directions. The commander and his number were chasing the guy on the left, I the one on the right. He found himself practically in front of me and so I had to strangle the throttle and turbo, and make tight an upward turn and I got behind his tail. Fired here dose from a distance of 200 yards and saw many hits. 190tka then climbed to 2,000 feet and turned over on her back. Followed him and when I saw that he was going to půlobratu, shot here to the right and made a 180° spiral. At a height of around 500 feet tried to fly and did a roll. In the middle of speed crashed into the earth next to the farm. Gasoline is splattered and wildly burst into flames.

190tky had beamed cross in white bordered, so that their identification by the characters was very heavy. The hood, belly, směřovku and elevator were painted a bright red color. the hull was painted a light gray.

I attach you two ruined Fw 190tky and two damaged.

Weather: 8-9/10 cloud cover, with a border in 5-6 000 feet, visibility good
Type NL: Fw 190
enemy losses: the two destroyed the Fw 190
Description:

I Flew like a Groundhog (squadron B, 62. squadron), the Red Three and how we met with the bombers, we noticed more than 30 dots in front of them. The germans split their forces in two stečích attacked the head of the box and clashed with a squadron And. Then the forces have moved and attacked the box directly in front of us. Groundhog (squadron B), made the cover while the other 2 squadron clashed with the enemy. Everywhere was quiet until I saw two flights of unknown aircraft rising very right of the B-17tek. Reported here is the Commander of your flight (Groundhog, Red Leader), and we flew to explore.

We flew from the sun and we have identified the enemy aircraft. They flew in two formations of three in a "V formation" aligned next to each other. Attacked here a squadron on the left. Fell here under the squadron, drew and aimed, and the number 3. I waited until it didn't fill the whole sight and then I fired a long shot. 190tka was framed interventions. Slid on the wing and in the spiral fell directly to the ground with smoke and fire linoucím from the engine.

Brought here for the remaining two, he flapped his wings and equaled in number 2, but turned sharply to the right. The commander of the squadron flew still straight, so I turned on the water injection, approached his 6. hour and turn it off. He fired back and scored hits for the roots of the wings and the fuselage. It then passed into the light right bend, and I continued shooting. Interventions glinted across the fairing of the engine to the bulkhead. Did three barrel rolls and from the 190 they were making it rain flames. He continued in a spiral direction down, smoke and flames poured from the aircraft. With any other enemy near him a long time watching. He flew right down and flattened out in the field close to the city. The return of the house was already uninteresting. My number chasing here 190tku, which is disconnected and I haven't seen him. 190tky were slate grey. Also had linking around the beam crosses on the wings.

I attach you two ruined Fw 190tky.

action Type: Martial
Date: 15. April 1944
Unit: 62. fighter squadron
Time: approximately at 14:30
Location: in the vicinity of Alton
Weather: misty
Type NL: Me 109 and Fw 190
enemy losses: one destroyed Me 109 and one damaged Fw 190
Description:

I Flew like a Groundhog commander (squadron B, 62. squadron). The three squadrons split up and headed to the nominated ground targets. Flew down here to the suburbs of Hamburg in a falling flight. Crossed the river here Alton. Here I've noticed many parked enemy aircraft. Issued the orders to discard the drop tanks. Groundhog White Three reported an unknown aircraft on the 9th. hour and so we went to explore it. I started to clash with the sun in the back. They were at the height of 5 000 feet, six aircraft right next to each other, one party on the left wing and two side on the right wing. Fell here under the one on the left and identified it as the Me 109 with square wings (so the wings had version E, version F was wings with rounded ends, approx. translator). I didn't see any of the supports under the elevator. I started with the fire at 350 yards and ended at 200 yards. Most of the interventions are concentrated around the rear of the engine and the bottom of the cockpit. 109tka she looked like she stopped in mid-air and I noticed a few explosions coming from the cockpit. She went over to the right corner, of the then into a nose dive, in which the fire started and dogville they too fell from her large pieces. Then, I attacked a Fw 190 with the fire at an angle of 90°. Reached here a few interventions and performed a 270° turn on its inner side. Then tied the score and how I prosecuted him, I noticed the 109 laying over here before, shot down as they came crashing down on my left hand.

Buttoned here the injection of water and quite quickly I came close to 190, which is pressed to the ground and just past the trees ahead of you. I kept firing short dávkama and every time it hit the. On one of my last doses here has achieved many hits, in the meantime, one Fw 190tka got behind my tail, but was too far away, than to you did some damage. Still here shooting at 190tku front of me, I noticed black smoke rising from the fuselage. Finally the enemy plane hit the left wing into a tree, spun and flipped into the trees. 190tka behind me was starting to be quite dangerous, and so I turned to her. He tried to go after me and we did one turnaround. We made fun all the time. Used here, the remnants of ammunition on him when shooting with a very big repair, where I did not reach any intervention. When I ran out of ammunition, turned on here, water injection and has started close an upward spiral. Enemy aircraft in 4 000 feet gave out, when it přestoupal and rewound. Then, I headed to the east, he met with his number and headed home.

The krauts are shown as very aggressive and very skilled with his aircraft.

I attach one destroyed Me 109 and one damaged Fw 190tku.

Kpt. Fred J. Christensen
action Type: Martial
Date: 27. June 1944
Unit: 62. fighter squadron
Time: approximately at 20:30
Location: in the vicinity of La Perthe, Cambrai & Lens
Weather: 7/10 at a height of 7000 feet
Type NL: Me 109
enemy losses: one destroyed Me 109
Description:

I Flew as a Platform commander (squadron And, 62. squadron) and provide here a high-rise envelope to the commander of a group of Fairbanks, while he bombed the airport in the vicinity of La Perth. Number 4 of its second squadron was met with stodevítkou and so I flew down to help and made an emergency here flinging bombs. When we arrived, during the bend we came across for twenty plus. My squadron remained intact and prosecuted here stodevítku about 10 miles before I lost it in the cloud. I started to go back to the airport, when I saw stodevítku and began to chase her. Just at the moment when I wanted to pull the trigger hid in a cloud. He drew up to him, but remained in the clouds. Then put your fleet together and went after the other two stodevítkách. I also hid in the clouds. I'm headed back to target, where I chased a few others but they all escaped into the fog. We covered the area and started to go home.

Between Cambrai and Lens, we were attacked by four stodevítek. My number 4 get hurt, and three he hanged at the tail. The fourth (German) tried to get my number three. I attacked him and he twirled to the other side. I fired on him with a 20° pre-planting of 300 yards and I hit it the first dose. There was an incredible concentration of interference from stem to tail and just behind the cockpit there was an explosion. Stodevítka then went down at an angle of 60° is completely enveloped in flames. Then I saw two of the remaining stodevítek, how to twist broken. When I with the number 3 came close to the last stodevítce, which circled in a duel with my number 4, (German) did a reversal and began the classic dogfight, in which we sklesali from 7000 feet down to the floor. He was very experienced and not for a second did not give us a chance to shoot. In the end, we lost him once in the 1500's footsteps made a reversal and was lost in the haze. Heap I went down the descent I chose below the level of the tops of the crowns of the trees and I yelled like crazy, I wasn't blackout. I put together a squadron and I headed home. White 3 lagged, so I did a 360° sweep and ranked to him. Then noticed stodevítku preparing to land at the airport at the Lens. Lost him in the triple-a club of flak. Then I headed home without further incident and with very little fuel.

I attach one destroyed Me 109.

Description:

5. June, I led a squadron of Platform (squadron And, 62. squadron). The bombers had 30 minutes delay and extra strong escort. I rode with his squadron to the right and I was looking for the aircraft that were prepared on the creation of formations. When we arrived at Evreux, I saw a lone Fw 190 above the clouds. I notified the squadron that I'm attacking, let me ensure coverage. When I get to the Fw 190 approached, so napikoval to cloud and I drew and watched him. Then I saw more than 15 stodevadesátek circling above the airport and shape the way we do it. Then I pricked the clouds, he chose two Fw 190 and began to pursue them. I looked in the back (noticed the Germans) and reported them to my wingmanovi (lt. Pierce), who shot down one behind my tail. Remaining chased the Red commander (lt. Robert C. Cherry).

My pair I chased for about 5 minutes and although they were out of range, I fired over them a long dose. I saw hits on the aircraft, we were already really low, still a little down, the left half of the wings got caught on a chimney in the city. Smacked the entire length of main street. I made a 360° turn and while watching him burn. While I was climbing along the Seine. When I got close to Rouen, I saw a couple of stodevítek. Then I noticed 8 or 9 others that flew above me. At that moment one stodevítka flew down to the cloud below me, hang on the propeller, and fired a lot of 20mm of benefits. One of the shells hit the left half of the wing, which reduce the speed. So I turned around and I chased him back to Paris but I lost him in the clouds. Fairbanks I'm on these babies and tell, and I headed home. Stodevítky be spotty camouflage in gray and light brown - stodevadesátky were in the green and blue combination.
